Chris Youmans is from Santa Cruz, CA. He comes from a lifetime of competitive sports and athletics. In high school, Chris was a two-time SCCAL wrestling champion and CCS-ranked wrestler. During college Chris pursued martial arts and Olympic weightlifting.
Chris started CrossFit in 2010 during the off season of wrestling. He has worked with coaches and nationally-ranked athletes from Catalyst Athletics in strength & conditioning and Olympic weightlifting programs. Chris has also competed in several Olympic Weightlifting competitions.
Chris utilizes his unique skill set to coach within the framework of each athlete’s learning style, experience level, and fitness goals. In addition to coaching CrossFit, Chris teaches Power Yoga and Yoga Sculpt at CorePower Yoga studios around LA. He is also a voice and guitar teacher at several of the premiere music conservatories in LA. A UC Berkeley graduate with a B.A. in Music, Chris won the 2015 Eisner Prize for creative achievement of the highest order in Music.
